Cherity Hindman started spending time around horses as a child at age 6 at her grandfather's ranch. She quickly found that she had a way with these animals that gained her the nickname of "horse wisperer" long before the movie was created. In 1992, she went to work for Remington Park as an excerciser where she quickly realised that her ways and love for horses was a strong as it had been in her younger years. She immediately set herself a goal of started a small ranch and training horses in the future. David Hoehman has a small ranch near Tecumseh that she spent a lot of time helping train and foal with him since 2000. Cherity purchase Sunny Girl, a foal born April 1, 2004, for her son Travis. She broke her is a week using technics learned in a gentle, trusting way she had been taught. Cherity then purchased Sonny Boy, a very green broke 5 year old gelding, six months ago, and he is a wonderful animal today. |
Bill's experience started when his family moved from Wewoka to Norman at age 6 and a year later started working for Reeve Ranch northwest of Norman. During that time Bill tended to cattle, horses, and different crops as this was a large operation. Within a few years, Bill was in the hay business and always tended to animals through his school years as he participated in FFA. After high school he was employeed by D. Wayne Lucas Farms tending to mares and working with weanlings and yearlings daily. He broke them to lead, cared for their medical needs and the special requirements that high quality horses need in the thoroughbred racing industry. After leaving Lucas Farms, Bill stayed active with the rodeo circuit and roped regularly. He then went into the military and worked for the Federal Aviation Administration until he was injured and retired in 2005. Bill and his daughter, Sabrina, regularly attended equine events and rodeo's as they are both huge fans. After much fustration with recreational sports and careful thought, Bill set out to again get his daughter active in farm and ranch work with animals such as his dad did when he was young. Bill had purchased 160 acres to build a retirement home near Tecumseh to live this dream. After finding several legal restrictions with the property he started searching for another piece of property to start a ranch. |

Cherity and Bill met at a ranch rodeo that Bill and his daughter attend yearly. Cherity's son Travis had won tickets to this same rodeo in a "crazy hat" coloring contest. They talked about their dreams and they were parallel. Bill asked Cherity to help him find a horse for his daughter Sabrina. A few weeks later a Palamino stud colt came up for sale and was purchased for her with Cherity's help. Blazing King "BK" is a yearling stud colt with a nice blood line that will stand at the ranch. A friend of Bill's told him about a ranch that was in need of attention between Moore and Norman that hasn't had horses on it for years. Bill and Cherity went to take a look at the ranch and meet the owner on a Friday afternoon when they discovered that the ranch had been sold due to a death in the family. The property had been purchased by Fred Stuart of Norman. By chance, Fred and his wife were at the property when we pulled up. It was their first visit to the property after closing. Cherity and Bill approached the Stuart's with a plan to recondition the facility and put it to use as it was meant to be and had been in years past. |
| This has been a heaven sent situation and all parties involved are fully dedicated to the ranch. The prior Apaloosa Ranch is starting to take shape as a facility that will board, train, breed, and foal with on going improvement daily. |
